Contact details & portrait requirements
The first step is supply me with your contact details and portrait requirements. The easiest way to do this is to complete my enquiry form or you can send an email or telephone me at any time.
Reference photographs
Send your reference photos to me via email. If your photographs are not digital then you can send them by regular post. For group portraits I can work from one photo but I would prefer separate photos if possible. If you are sending me photographs for a pet portrait let me know which ones best represent the colour of your pets coat, eyes, etc. If you have problems taking reference photographs please refer to my photography tips page. If you are unsure of the suitability of your reference photos or only have older photographs for me to work from you can send them to me and I will let you know if I am able to use them.
Confirmation and deposit payment
I will send you an email confirming the information you have supplied along with the total cost of your portrait and estimated start and completion dates. At this stage I will ask for a 50% deposit to secure your order. Payment can be made by cheque or by credit/debit card via Paypal.
Mock-up
A mock-up is a sketch or digital image which gives a rough idea of how the finished portrait will look. This is ideal for showing you the positioning of the subjects and the background to be used. It is important that these factors are agreed before the portrait is started as this avoids any major changes at a later stage.
Completion of portrait
Upon completion of your portrait a digital copy will be sent to you via email or post for final approval.
Payment
Once you have approved the digital copy of your portrait I will ask for the remaining payment. Payment can be made by cheque or by credit/debit card via Paypal. Your portrait will be dispatched once I have received payment in full. If you are paying by cheque please allow 4 working days, for your cheque to clear, before your portrait is dispatched.
